Killer Nurse Pleads Guilty

Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry recently announced that a western Pennsylvania nurse will spend the rest of her life in prison, without the possibility of parole, for intentionally administering lethal doses of insulin to patients at numerous skilled nursing facilities. Heather Pressdee, of Natrona Heights, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, and 19 counts of criminal attempt to commit murder. Pressdee had been terminated and/or forced to resign from ten local medical facilities over a period of less than four years because of her abusive behavior towards residents and staff.

The obvious question is how was Pressdee able to be hired at these facilities with her disturbing background? And the obvious answer is that these nursing facilities did not perform very basic background checks, including employment references. These deaths should not have happened and were completely preventable. This is exactly why C-Screen was created.

Make informed decisions for your loved ones and always ask to see a healthcare facility’s C-Screen Report and Rating. Know who you’re dealing with.
